There I sat at Pet Smart with Maggie and Reggie when a lady walked by and commented that these guys looked like her friend's dogs. She said her friend, through some unfortunate circumstances had to give the dogs away. She thought she had found them a good home with good people but the "good" people kept them about 3 days and dumped them at the county shelter. She was heart broken and had posted them on facebook begging someone to rescue them. I gave her my contact info and after speaking with the previous owner I assured her that Maggie and Reggie would not be returning to the shelter and would be well cared for while waiting on a great family to adopt them. The thought for the day: The word coincidence is not in the Bible.
So Maggie and Reggie went back to the shelter until the next event on Saturday. I had another event to go to that afternoon but I hadn't planned on taking them since their bowel issues had not yet been addressed and I didn't want to keep them over the weekend. Well, sitting there with them and enjoying their sweet company I felt my heart strings pull. Needless to say they went to the afternoon event with me and home for the weekend. YAY. The thought for the day: You can do what is easy or you can do what is right. Just do what is right.
Wow, our first slumber party was a gas…well more like diarrhea. We brought Maggie Mae and Reggie home with us so we could take them to an adoption event on Wednesday. Unfortunately they had bowel problems from the get go. It didn’t help that Maggie, who is rather large, ok she’s fat, can escape from a well locked kennel with a two inch opening. I kid you not! So, early the next morning the diarrhea was everywhere. I don’t usually have a problem with bodily fluids but dude this was before coffee. Needless to say God has a sense of humor. The thought for the day was: Life isn’t always about sweet kisses and lavender smelling fur, sometimes it’s messy and smelly, but God is still God. To be continued....
